At L3 Academy, we believe that the foundations for a great education start with the love of learning at an early age no matter what subject, but the most vital areas are math, science and reading & writing. Our programs in math and science are designed to promote comprehension and fun. With a giant white board wall, kids look forward to showing off their knowledge!
In our I Love Math program, all students take an assessment before being placed in a math group. Math groups are usually 2 to 6 students.

Similar to Russian Math Circles, the goal of the program is math fluency. There are two parts of our I Love Math program: (1) foundational math where we use Singapore Math and (2) math logic and puzzles.
L3 Academy has helped students seeking to enter honors or advanced algebra classes in school. We enhance the students’ current knowledge and fill in the gaps. Once again, anyone entering this program will also be given an assessment.
L3 Academy offers one-on-one math sessions selectively. Based on the student’s needs and goals, we will make a recommendation for what we believe would be best for the child.
Contrary to older views, young children are not concrete and simplistic thinkers…. Research shows that children’s thinking is surprisingly sophisticated…. Children can use a wide range of reasoning processes that form the underpinnings of scientific thinking, even though their experience is variable and they have much more to learn. (Duschl, Schweingruber, &Shouse, 2007, pp. 2-3)
Before turning to a deeper discussion of science, why not have fun in the process of discovering science? Science is the study of the natural world and children are natural scientists.
While facts are important, children have a natural curiosity that can and should be leveraged for understanding the basic concepts of science and hot they connect and are applied to the world in which they live. By teaching these basic science concepts and if they can retain them, science classes – even in high school – will become an “ah ha” moment. For example, Newton’s 3 laws of physics can be taught to a child starting at age 6. If that child retains the knowledge, he/she will find high school physic so much more interesting and less complicated than their peers.
All our science programs are experiential learning experiences with focused concepts and learning objectives. Science is such a natural subject to start off a child’s love of learning.
